MY STORY
Experience & Education
While living in Seattle from 2020 to 2023, I decided to leave the world of email marketing and pursue my passion for audio. Before I even completed my certification course through University of Washington, I got straight to work in the escape room and immersive audio industry, mixing the audio for the award winning Arkham Horror: Mystery at Innsmouth room by Hourglass Escapes. Soon after, I got to work on the online prequel to the physical room, Road to Innsmouth, and the work just kept on coming from there. Seattle has no shortage of talented and driven artists, so I consider myself extremely lucky to have been involved with the projects that found me there.
Since moving back to Portland, Oregon, I’m currently working toward an Associate of Science degree through Portland Community College in Creative Coding and Immersive Technologies. I’m still working on experiences in Seattle, including the exciting TOMB RAIDER Experience Seattle, set to open October 2024.
Building Worlds
I grew up in a house teeming with physical media. Floor-to-ceiling shelves filled with books, VHS tapes (and eventually DVDs), magazines, and CDs lined the walls of our living room wherever we moved, which was often rural and secluded. Without TV reception or internet until the age of 13 (and even then it was dial-up so slow that it made snail mail look convenient), these treasures were my only means of escape.
With my single mom working many odd hours, I had a lot of unsupervised time alone to dig in. I learned about self-reliance with Jean Craighead George, facing fears from watching The Sandlot, and standing up for myself while listening to Elton John. Most importantly, I learned that I wasn't alone; that there were people (real and imagined) everywhere experiencing similar things.
My goal is creating those experiences for others. Something that will transport them from their everyday lives and immerse them in the extraordinary through sound.
